Linear electric cylinder

Linear electric cylinder
Detailed:

A linear motor is an electric motor whose rotor moves in a straight line rather than rotating like a conventional motor. Linear motor is widely used in energy conversion, machinery manufacturing, aerospace, transportation, medical and other fields. Linear motors have some advantages and disadvantages, which are described in detail below.

Advantages:

1. High acceleration: the linear motor has no mechanical transmission, and its acceleration and deceleration speed and response speed are very fast. It can complete a large acceleration in a short time, and the response time is very fast, which is very suitable for high-speed and high-precision motion control.

2. High efficiency: The high efficiency of the linear motor is determined by its mode of movement. There is no transmission system and mechanical device, there will be no friction loss, axial force, mechanical clearance and so on. Therefore, the efficiency of linear motors can reach about 90%, which is much higher than that of traditional motors.

3. High accuracy: linear motor has a very high accuracy, can reach the micron level of accuracy. Because the linear motor has no transmission chain, the coordinate accuracy is directly affected by the drive current, so higher accuracy can be obtained through multi-level control.

4. Low energy consumption: linear motor adopts stepless control, without a large number of mechanical transmission components, so the loss of traditional mechanical transmission is eliminated. At the same time, the linear motor adopts energy-saving driver, which realizes the characteristics of high efficiency, energy saving and environmental protection.

5. Small size, light weight: linear motor without rotor, bearing, reducer, sensor and other traditional mechanical devices, with a very small volume and weight. In some cases, especially applications with high dry weight requirements, it can play a very obvious advantage.

Cons:

1. High price: The price of linear motors is relatively high compared with traditional motors, on the one hand, because the research and development and production technology of linear motors is more difficult, requiring higher research and development costs and production technology costs; On the other hand, the production field of linear motor applications is relatively small, and it can be combined with existing machining and motion control systems, so the market demand is not large, resulting in higher costs.

2. Magnetic field mutual inductance effect: linear motor will have different electromagnetic field mutual inductance effect according to different materials. In operation, this effect can cause the machine to lose certain accuracy or generate accumulated errors.

3. Heat generation: linear motor will produce a lot of heat at high speed, and it is necessary to consider the problem of heat dissipation. The heat dissipation problem of linear motor is more complicated than that of traditional motor.

4, restrictive: linear motor in space and direction need to have specific restrictions, if the lack of these restrictions, will lead to uncontrolled situation.

In general, linear motor has the advantages of high efficiency, high precision, high acceleration, but also has the disadvantages of high price, magnetic field mutual inductance, heat generation, and strong restriction. The advantages of linear motor are particularly suitable for some high-precision, high-speed, and fine control occasions, but it is also necessary to consider the heat dissipation, space direction restrictions and research and development costs for its shortcomings.
