Structural Characteristics and Application Advantages of Truss Manipulators

In practice, truss manipulator can almost be widely used in all walks of life in industrial production. It has the advantages of convenient operation, high efficiency, and high workpiece quality. Composition characteristics of truss manipulator:

1. High speed -------- Each axis runs in a straight line at a high speed, and can respond quickly with a servo motor;

2. Stability ---- very small repetitive errors, with a low point of 0.05mm;

3. High intensity ------- 7x24 hours of work, no need to eat, sleep, smoke, etc;

4. High precision ------ positioning accuracy can reach 0.02mm (based on the production cost, the positioning accuracy can be appropriately enlarged according to the operating conditions);

5. High cost performance ---- Compared with articulated robots, they have large load weight and low production cost, which is suitable for the basic national conditions of "intelligent manufacturing in China";

6. Simple operation ------ based on rectangular coordinate system, its motion parameters are relatively simple.

1) Structural members are generally composed of aluminum profiles or square tubes, rectangular tubes, channel steels, I-beams and other structures. Their effect is to serve as the device base for components such as guide pieces and transmission parts, and they are also the primary bearers of manipulator loads.

2) The guide elements are commonly used as linear guide, v-shaped roller guide, U-shaped roller guide, square guide, dovetail groove and other commonly used guide structures. Their detailed application needs to be determined according to practical application conditions and positioning accuracy.

3) There are generally three types of transmission parts: electric, pneumatic and hydraulic. Among them, there are electric gear rack structure, ball screw structure, synchronous belt transmission, chain tradition and wire rope transmission.

4) Generally, the travel switch is used as the electrical limit at both ends of the sensor detection element. When the moving component moves to the limit switch at both ends, the mechanism needs to be locked to prevent it from overtravel; In addition, there are origin sensors and position feedback sensors.

5) The mechanical limit group has the effect of rigid limit beyond the electric limit travel, commonly known as dead limit.

3. There are different methods for tooling and fixture according to the size of the workpiece, such as vacuum suction, chuck clamping, holding or needle type fixture insertion.

4. The control cabinet, which is equivalent to the brain effect of the truss manipulator, collects the input signals of each sensor or button through the industrial controller to send instructions to each performing element to perform according to the established actions.
